Population control - not controversial I hope.. Page 4

I read somewhere, a few years ago, that 3/4 of human beings that have ever lived are alive today*. It took me a while to get my head around. At first I thought the article was about being immortal...

* it might not have been 3/4. It may have been 1/2 or 1/4. But I think it was 3/4.

This website says that the 3/4 figure is a figment of someone's imagination. It then goes on to say it's actually less than 6%. Actually quite large when you think about it.

Maybe it was figment of my imagination. I'm going to continue spreading this myth for fun.
:D

So there's a lot people in China, apparently, I've read that anyway, what are they going to do about that? If every fifth person is Chinese that makes about 1.3 billion, give or take. I think they could do with getting it down under the billion mark. Over a billion of anything seems like too many to me. I think they have mooted some plans over there but I think it's come from their polticians, so obviously they won't work, whatever they are..

I am not against the Chinese as a nation by the way. I like fish and chips as much as anyone!

You do know the Chinese are the only people to control their population levels?

Maybe they need to try harder then! :)

India is China's only partner in the billion population club. Between the 2 countries they have 1/3 of the world's population.

They're both ruddy big countries.

That's some achievement for them then!

Maybe someone should tell them less is more!

It seems like half the people I know have adopted female babies from China. Imagine how tough it must be to be a young Chinese male when it comes to the dating scene.

Some of the more cynical analysts out there worry that China may "need" to have a major war in order to rid the country of a surplus of young, sexually deprived men. Hopefully they'll just get rid of their stodgy old government instead.

As long as they can feed and look after themselves well, without polluting the planet, then it's not a problem!

India is 1/3 the size of the U.S. and has almost 4 times as many people. Must be a little crowded these days ...

Laughing out loud

Nice to see a young band with a brass section! Not bad!

Well, younger than The Stones anyways!

I think there is a clue in South America to assist us with respect to population control. There is a certain tribe of men with very big cocks. They fornicate with donkeys as their wives will only have sex once ever to have just the one child ("..because it's just too big, darlink, sorry..")

The men reckon that the sex with donkeys is far better anyway, so it's not a problem. The tribe is disappearing fast with their numbers dropping dramatically year on year.. (go figure the math)

I'm willing to try it anyway. My wife is in full agreement too.

Someone suggested sterilising every baby at birth and then reversing it when you actually want and can support a baby.

That would stop all those chavvy spongers.

Sounds a bit extreme.

How do you feel about space travel, Dave?

Just listening to 'The Piper at The Gates of Dawn' btw.. PF
