Well you know, like ass as in donkey, and arse as in... arse.
They sound different.

Like in "Heart of Glass" by Blondie, one of the rhymes gets mucked up by here saying "ass" not "arse"; and "glass" with a southern accent.
We have Norfolk below us and Yorkshire above us, so my accent's a bit of a mix of north and south - a little bit like a Nottingham accent.
Southerners think it's well northern, and Northerners thinks it sounds poncy southern. Someone in Hull said I had a Cockney twang. Eh???
Anyway, I say 'ass' to rhyme with 'glass', so suppose it would work.
Ooh!
Do you say glass or glarse?
(Well I'm not sure that makes sense but you know what I mean.)
But that's "arse", not "ass" to me!
Oh.

Do you say grass to rhyme with erm 'sass'.
Or grass to rhyme with 'park'.

Ok - with a short 'a' as in 'pad', not 'father'.
