Changing Species

Hi people - any chance you can give us some more feedback on this sketch!?

This is a sketch written by BSG'er Dannyjb1 AND actually realised as a video ...sadly it will not be broadcast on mainstream TV in the near future to my knowledge... and some may say... "here's why..." but nevertheless, your comments good, bad and indifferent are all welcome..

Thank you!!!! :)

A nice mixture of the ordinairy and the surreal.

Funny well put together (the 3rd arm is a bit of a distraction0.

It is a little predictable, you know it's going to be something odd being sold, and the punchline is pretty predictable.

So it's good, and professional.

But no suprises (which maybe no bad thing).

I thought there was a bit too much repetition which blunted any funny dialogue.

The ending was very obvious too. The fact that Danny was talking to someone offscreen meant that a reveal of "manimal" was coming up.

Oh yeah, and the 3rd arm did seem to be a bit too "surreal for the sake of being surreal".

I did like Danny's acting though. His best so far in my opinion.

A lack of characterisation? It's a short bit so you have to establish your characters quickly, the salesman was fine but the homeowner was eloquent enough for it to be a distraction.

The quality of production was good but it felt too long, the initial scene (the camera running towards the door which was ringing) felt drawn out and could have been supplemented by a shorter scene.

Looking at again, after reading my learned friends comments.

It's a bit long, and a bit repatative. The pace is really off, and it over explains. It's 60=70% there but it over explains the ideas.

Check out a similar idea in Meaning of Life, the Organ Doner skit.

The instantaneous mental leaps your audience make, are the hardest bit to get right, but they're also where the best laughs lie

Well I loved it, especially the third arm, made me laugh out loud.

Well thanks for comments guys, yeah it is kind of obvious in parts I admit.

Big Thanks the acting compliments.. I do try...

Don't really understand the "I thought there was a bit too much repetition which blunted any funny dialogue."

I guess there is a blalance between the amount of questions they really ask and shortening it for comedic effect (if that's what you mean).

We are all still learning...

Yep. That's what I meant.

I knew what you meant.

Thanks fellas. We thrive on feedback... and sniffing bicycle saddles, but that's a different story.
