I think he's mainly slagging him off for his own opinion, that he thinks he's not funny.
What did you typo wrongo? I must knowo!

Quote: Nil Putters @ July 27 2008, 12:06 PM BSTI'm not 'in the industry', and couldn't really care what they think of him. And even if 'they' do hate him, it doesn't mean he's not funny. Or is it that he's not 'clever' enough?
I think that's the annoying thing though, he probably is clever enough but he 'dumbs-down' his act. I suppose someone has to fill that market though.
I sleep with a fan by my bed which helps... although can be a bit disconcerting when you wake up at 2 in the morning and he starts yelling 'Go Sleep, Go Sleep!'. Well not strictly true... it's an osciallating fan so he goes 'g-o-o s-le-ee-pp. go-sl-ee-pp'.
Quote: Aaron @ July 27 2008, 12:02 PM BSTApparently, he's just not a very nice person. At all. Totally ruthless, calculating, business/money-at-any-cost (hence the bi-yearly re-release of Phoenix Nights). Etc. You get the drift.
True, but that's has nothing to do with his comedy and whether he's funny or not. As long as he's not hurting anyone I don't care. People don't have to buy the DVD every year, one copy should be enough.

Fair enough, I'm just in a argumentative (spelling) mood, as the bitch upstairs woke me up at 8:30 with heavy bass.
Typo was 'no' not 'know'.
Ahhhh.
My curiosity is sated.
Why are the words sated and satiated so similar. And while we're on it why does the word sanction mean the opposite of itself???

I just don't think you can slag him off on someone elses opinion.
Maxibons are quite expensive (but are worth it). I think you're a being a bit snobby (and troll-like)
I spent a week in Magaluf - all I saw when I went for my breakfast (late afternoon breakfast) was Max and Paddy, and Peter Kay stand ups on the TVs.
Nuff said, but I do find him funny but don't really have much respect for him as a comedian, he milks what he has for everything it's worth and apparantly half the stuff he comes out with isn't his own anyway.
PS - Maxibons rule, but haven't had one for like 10 years...

Brits on holiday eh? May as well stay at home if all they're gonna do is watch TV.
I said my piece on Kay now, case closed (for me anyway). I'm not his PA.

Yes, yes they do. Now's the time, although they're pretty hard to find these days.
Quote: Nil Putters @ July 27 2008, 11:12 AM BSTYou're missing out, they're lush *searches internet*
One half has two soft biscuit-like 'wafers' with ice cream and choc chips. The other the same inside, surrounded by chocolate with nuts in. *drools*

Maxibons are the bessssst!

Do you remember the adverts for them being a bit over the top?

Ad is in original post.
Nope. I don't remember adverts for them at all actually.

I just about remember it, they were really loud, probably why I bought one to be honest
Oh christ I have a sunday roast today - to hell with that I'm eating a pot noodle or something.
That just reminds me of the Navy episode of The Simpsons, about "superliminal persuasion"!
It's 2008...just get aircon. I'm off to pop a jumper on
