How much time does a forum take up though?

If you consider that it's open 24 hours, with several hundred (non-banned) members, then.. clearly that takes up more time than anyone has actually got.

I didn't actually think Perry posted that often. Maybe he read a lot?
It's a very tempting distraction though, I will say that.

But it's a fun one!

Too much so. That's half the problem.

I don't read EVERYTHING though. I don't read the comedy section much, only General and Writers. It's where the action is.

I'm on here a lot during the day because I have a piss-boring day job and sitting talking crap on the computer is the only thing that keeps me sane.

However if I'm busy writing, at evenings and weekends, I try to keep off here. Problem is you guys are (mostly) so entertaining that the temptation is always there to think "oh I'll fix that punchline in a minute, let's just go and see what's happening on BSG".

Still, it's an improvement on my previous fixation with snuff movies.

I'm not very productive at the minute so I always sneak a look.

But only a small group of regulars though. It's good that way.

Ditto. Spot on!

Still, it's an improvement on my previous fixation with snuff movies.

Except for that bit.

I know what you mean. Luckily, my PC is a boring old desktop effort and my broadband is connected to a cable which snakes out of the back room to the hallway phone socket, so if I really, really need to work I don't set it up.

It's the poor buggers on wireless laptops for whom I feel sorry. They must never get to bed.

It's nice to have a small band of a couple of dozen regulars, as you get to know everyone, in a bizarre virtual-Internet-completely-unreal kind of way.

I dunno if it's so 'unreal'. People are just a bit braver than normal, I think.

It's a bit unreal, though. Imagine if we all met up and behaved exactly as we do online.

Half the blokes would have their heads down Ellie's top, zooo would be making Aaron have sex with you, sootyj would be pismonouncing his worms while he kicks Gordon Brown in the goolies, Scatters and PhQnix would be saying "You're great. No, I'm rubbish, you're great" to each other all night, Rubes would be forcing big cakes down people's gobs apart from Leevil, who'd be eating a sandwich, I'd be shaking my head in the disbelief that comes from being half a generation older than most of you and Seefacts would be saying, "You're all amateurs."

And Perry Nium wouldn't be there.

This is a wonderful summary. Kudos, Mr Bandage.
