Coming soon

Hopefully this hasn't already been done, but are there any sitcoms coming out soon that it's worth getting excited about - either because of the writer, cast or the premise?

No Heroics looks promising. Decent cast anyway. Read more here.

Hmmm - written by Drew Pearce - who doesn't seem to have the best writing pedigree. But looks interesting for ITV.

That would be because _everyone_ is in it! Sounds amazing! Mark Heap!

Potential for disappointment = f(excitement), though.

Old Harry's Game, the sitcom from Hell with Andy Hamilton is due to return for its seventh series on Radio 4.

Cool. Best sitcom on radio.

Indeed, and one of the longest running. Mind you, there is also "Hancock's Half Hour", "The Navy Lark" and "Revolting People" (also with Hamilton) would no doubt want to be seen as best as well.

At the risk of sending the thread the wrong way, Absolute Power has been forgotten from your list.

Dan

Oh yes, you're quite right (How could I've forgot something with Tamsin Greig in it?! I'm so ashamed.).

I've never listened to the radio series, but loved it on TV. Good, same, or better on radio...? (Which I know was original.)

I'd pop Terry Across The Mersey into Arrrrrgh while you're at it.

And "Vic and Bob Superhero Sitcom".

The radio series does contain some differences with the TV series. In the radio show, Prentiss McCabe is a "Government-media relations consultancy", which works closely with the government (often the dark side of New Labour), while at the same time have to try and deal with a different client who wants to try and achieve the opposite adjective. Tamsin Greig appears in the whole of the second series as Gayle Shand, Charles Prentiss' ex-lover and greatest rival. The series is often repeated on BBC 7 (but not at the moment, sadly).
