Having looked at some of the clips from last time, were the entrants competing for best or worst sitcom?
The Sitcom Trials 2008 Page 2
Actually, I think I will. Not to piss all over anyone else's chips - I only saw a few of the skits which are on their webpage (http://sitcomtrials.co.uk/) so if you wrote one i may not have seen oyurs - but they all seem to be utter wank.
hopefully this means the standard of entry was poor and not just that the 'finalists' are selected by a blindfolded chimp.
edit: On review of the thread, I realise you (griff) had two skits on last year. As I say, i've only seen a few of the clips up on the site, and while I hope yours wasn't one of them, comedy is an aquired taste and it's just as likely i'm talking out my stupid fat arse.
In other words: no offense meant.
Hope to .
also, see my edit of the previous post.
The sitcom trials are staged from the 24th Sept to the 10 Dec. That's quite a long time. Do they put every entry on stage and then get the audience to vote, or does Simon select the best to be staged?
oh right thanks, but the dates I gave, there'll be a lot of nights with nothing staged
oh I see
Quote: Griff @ July 27 2008, 1:22 PM BSTYes, if it's like last year, it'll just be one show per week.
You mean once a week they'll put on one show with 4 sitcoms?
Dunno why I asked that because it's quite clear.
Has anybody who's done well in The Sitcom Trials ever gone on to do anything? I'm not being facetious, I'm genuinely curious as to what it's track record has been in discovering new talent.
well I've sent my entry off
Me too. Just wait and see!
Good luck David

Thanks - you too! I'm working hard on my Red Planet now.
I hope I see you at the trials
I do too!
I hope you won't mind coming behind me.
