Yeah you might like to try our sister site the British Philosophy Guide next time.

I would like that sight. Does Ellie wear glasses on that one?

Presumably if you have 5 years left you can try to fit in whatever you wanted to do, and fulfill your ambitions, travelling, learning, etc. If you have a week left I suppose you just have to tidy up whatever you've done so far, say goodbye etc. Or just spend your time 24/7 down at Wetherspoons. Or the Stripperama, or whatever takes your fancy!

I wonder if somebody who did have five years left and knew it would fulfill there ambitions? Or just tootle along as before. You hope it's the former, but fear it's actually the latter.

I think in the end it's hard to know what your ambitions really are. Is seeing the Great Barrier Reef or the Pyramids really going to make you feel "wow I'm ready to die now" ?

Probably not. But they are undeniably impressive, and it would be nice to see them before you shuffle off this mortal coil.

"Now, which one was the rip cord again?"

"Blimey, that was cl..."

"Mine field? I think you'll find it's everyone's field, Fritz."

I've seen the Reef, but not the Pyramids. It is indeed wondrous.

BTW I know of someone who has a terminal illness in their thirties. It is awful. They are spending their time before going into respite care travelling all around the world seeing friends one last time.

It's an unhappy business, death.

I've seen the pyramids. I think it was in an Alan Whicker documentary. That will do for me, not being a big traveller.

:)

I'd put Radio Five Live on as it would make the remaining week feel like an eternity and I would be glad to die by the end of it.

I suppose you could sell your house, cash in all your savings, give up work, and blow the lot on having a good time.

There's an excellent Becker episode along those lines. Very funny. (They all are of course.)

I think they've finished building them since then. Probably worth another look.

My best mate when I was in college died last year. From that point on I decided I would start fulfilling ambitions right left and centre. Because I'm not a millionaire it can be difficult but without going crazy I'm doing pretty good. Of course joining this site has been the highlight (That will be 10 Euros please Aaron)

Looking forward to the responses on this. Am currently trying to write a stand-up set largely revolving around the inescapable inevitability of death.

The irony is that if you use Graham's joke you'll be able to experience death when it kills your act. :)

Cool, what have you managed to tick off?

I've started with the music side of things. Playing in the Albert Hall, Symphony Hall, Birmingham, Whit Friday Marches, St David's Hall Cardiff. It's taken a lot of practise but the rewards been great.

Which instrument do you play roscoff? What else is on your list?
