Flipping. Heck.

That's my friend, Max, in the striped shirt at the end. His father owns the pub. They had gradually expanded the pub to include the entire building, but most of it was condemned after the storm and they reverted back to the original 1-room establishment.
I was back in town a few weeks ago and much of it has been rebuilt. Every school I attended was blown down, but now they're all up and running again. I think 10,000 homes were destroyed or severely damaged. It was as powerful a hurricane as Katrina, but they were spared the usual storm surge and flooding because the water flowed out of the nearby harbor instead of being pushed up into it.
We've had a few tornadoes with 15 miles of me since I moved to Texas, but the real action is up in Oklahoma. One of my Army buddies fancies himself an amateur videographer and storm chaser, so one of the days we'll make a road trip to chase some tornadoes. The ones they get in that part of the country are sometimes a mile wide.
