I decided to enter both the film and tv drama competitions posted on this site and sent them off last week. the deadlines arent till september but im happy as i could be with them and its better to be early than late right?
id actually written my drama ages before i found out about the competition and had already sent it off to an agent who liked it but wanted £1250 upfront and as a uni student I couldnt afford that plus there was doubt as to whether it was legit.
After that disappointment this competition was exactly what i needed. My drama is about 4 adult siblings and is called '4 Siblings'. I dont want to give too much away but if i had to pitch it id say it was Brothers&Sisters meets Ugly Betty.
I entered the film competition as a way of entering the industry and getting my drama made or at least reviewed as the agent deal fell through. Id actually written my film script before I found out about the tv drama competition otherwise I might not have written it. Its called 'The Game of Revenge' and i dont want to give too much away but basically its about a bitter divorced couple who are reunited while trying to rescue their kidnapped daughter. it may not sound like much but a lot of stuff happens and its a thriller.
