i was sitting around wondering what would be my favourite sitcom episode ever and i came to the conclusion that the germans fawlty towers episode would top the list.
then i wondered what other people would vote as theirs?

my all-time favourite w0ould be "Amy and Amiability" from Blackadder III - you know, the one where Prince decided to marry money.
Loved Miranda Richardson in this one
British: the Only Fools & Horses episode with the chandelier.
US: Seinfeld - The Race (any sitcom that can fit in a discussion on the pros and cons of communism is OK with me).
i think the best sicom episoe is men behaving badly, the one where tony, returns from europe with a beard, top notch comedy
Hmm, very hard to choose! The Germans is definitely a brilliant episode by any standards, but not sure... Hard!
It changes all the time with me, but at the moment it's probably the episode of I'm Alan Partridge where he meets the stalker obsessed with him.
That is a classic episode.
Jed: So, are you coming for that pint with me and my brother?
Alan: No way, you big spastic, you're a mentalist!
the best sitcom episode of all time has to be i could say there aint 1 there all great but the mafia episode of my family tops my list has to really
So many you could choose from SEINFELD, but today ill go for 'the puffy shirt', cos I dont wanna be a pirate!
Oh, and from Im Alan Partridge, the episode in series one with the mad fan with Alans face tattooed on himself!
Which I just notice someone else has all ready nominated. So Ill add an episode from series two, the DAN! one. That bit with micheal and the cup of beans with a sausage in always gets me.
Actually, nearly all of both series, for me just the best modern british sitcom.
And how about from FATHER TED the episode where TED has to kick the Bishop up the arse?
Or the Father Ted when he's accused of being racist, and theres that strange black square on the window...
That made me laugh so hard the first time I saw it!
it is deffinetley a classic but...
open all hours and the funeral episode has gotta be better =-D
Spaced - Gone. Gun fight! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2ZRGO7HPRU
Scrubs - My Way Home. The Wizard Of Oz paraody.
Porridge - A Quiet Night In.
Arrested Development - Meet the Veals
Peep Show - Series 3, Episode 5. The Gay Clubbing episode.
The Office episode when it is Comic Relief day. Not just for THAT dance but because there were so many great moments in it. For instance, Brent making the Ogg Monster (Stephen Merchant) cry because he called him a "goggle eyed freak". Priceless!
Yeah, I like that Office episode too, Before the Ogg Monster starts to cry he says to Brent 'I didn't call you little fatty fat fat' or something like that.
There are some good suggestions on this topic. It would depend on my mood which one was the best for me.
This is not strictly an episode of sit com but what made me laugh a lot was that documentary on Brian Harvey. I love his explanation about eating 3 jacket potatoes with tuna and then he went driving and opened the car door to be sick, his foot hit the accelorater instead of the brake (!) and Brian defied the laws of physics and propulsion by running himself over with his own car. Brilliant!! He then said 'I'll never eat Jacket Potatoes again'!
Also this is going back a few years but when I was really young I remember watching episodes of a show called 'Matt Houston'. He looked a bit like Magnum PI but he had another job and I can't remember what. Anyway at the beginning credits and the end credits they showed Matt Houston running after criminals. He had the funniest run I had ever seen and me and my sister and brothers would piss our pants laughing watching him run. We were only allowed to watch it on special occasions cos it was on late. 8pm (!) We only watched the show for the run. Sometimes he would have to run during the episode too and again we would howl with laughter. I think this is why I can't remember much about it except for the run. Brilliant!
