The bin: Where society’s Wastemen come to live -synopsis

This surreal sitcom follows the life of Virgil Okondo. Who is one of the very few young black males living the upper class. Virgil started out life as an unwanted pregnancy. His teenage parents then decided to put him up for adoption. He was then adopted by a rich white young couple who wanted to perform a social experiment after watching Eddie Murphy’s trading places on video. They really wanted to know if it was nature or nurture that influenced our ‘people’. What they didn’t count on was that their adopted son would be such an obnoxious narcissistic know it all. After 18 years of having to live with this unbearable human being. They decided to divorce him using the reverse Macaulay Culkin act. He then loses everything and is thrown down to the bottom of the social ladder. He is forced to live with is wannabe drug-dealer cousin in an inner city youth hostel for the homeless. He then tries (and fails on many occasions) to re connect with his ‘people’, and regain is once frivolous lifestyle.

Sounds like the Fresh Prince in reverse.

Could work, but you'll have to work hard to avoid seeming racist.

What's a reverse Mackaulay?

n.b. get writing, try writing a few scenes you'll soon see if it's got legs or not.

Maybe the youth hostel could be across the road from a petrol station?

Then it can be called "Station To Station," like the Bowie album. Which means it'll get easily commissioned because of the connection to Life On Mars & Ashes To Ashes.

Moving to correct forum.

there's not really anything to critique is there?

but I'd worry less about the copyright (which I would imagine is worthless - there's not enough to copyright) and more about actually writing some of it.

The petrol station should be next to a joke shop.

I was under the impression that you could not copyright an idea, but instead it is the creation from that idea which is copyright as you write it?

Can anyone confirms this?

Def.
