For the makers and shakers.
New Window of Opportunity
Finally I can give the small old bald bloke from Benny Hill the recognition he reserves.
Howdy,
For those of you who haven't the foggiest what the Window of Opportunity is or what is does, let me enlighten you...
Have you ever wanted to get your work seen by comedy experts? Well, 4Laughs is here to make your dreams come true! With the power of the Window of Opportunity (WOO) competition, we endeavour to encourage and develop budding comedy talent and to provide a step-up into the comedy industry.
Every month 4Laughs brings you the chance to get your work seen by industry experts and put in the industry limelight. In the past, Window of Opportunity winners have had their comedy offerings featured in the Secret Policeman’s Ball, Loaded magazine, Chortle, Leicester Comedy fest and many more, while one victor had their work performed by Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr. If it’s scripts, one liners, videos, reviews or images, 4Laughs’ Window of Opportunity competition gives rookie comedy makers the outlet to show off their stuff.
July is the run up to Edinburgh, and to celebrate the world famous comedy institution, 4Laughs is collaborating with the pinnacle bearer of all comedy knowledge, Chortle, to bring you this month’s Window of Opportunity competition!
We're looking for you to sing the praises of the underrated stars of comedy. Maybe it's a long-forgotten comedian, who was a pioneer of their time, but has since been overlooked; maybe it's a someone who's made a small but vital contribution to sitcoms or films; or possibly a comedian unfairly branded unfashionable. Perhaps you simply want to tell us about someone on the up who hasn't yet made the big time. Whatever, we want you to spread the word about anyone from the world of comedy who has never received the recognition they truly deserve; we want to hear about your ‘Unsung Comedy Heroes’!

'Little Jacky Wright' - wasn't that his name?
I had an uncle that looked a bit like Henry McGee (the Sugar Puffs pal of Benny's).

How did that pan out for you in the end?
I think I might have once, thing was I was sending obsesne hate mail

I got to meet Graham Duff at the end of January but nothing has really happened since; although I can't say I've pushed it too much of late.
Well there's nothing like last minute panic as a motivator.
At 8 o'clock today I sat down to film my tribute to Henry McKee only to find out my battery on my video camera was flat... I couldn't find my digital camera... Now at 1 O'clock I have finished editing and am now rendering to sustain me I have opened and nearly devoured an entire box of chocolates bought for me for my birthday, I'm tired and my eyes hurt.
Do I stand a chance of wining, hell no
The last minute panic did pay off... of course if I had more time then it would be a whole lot more polished but here we go.
Hehe -- nice one Danny. Congratulations, mate.
Dan
Yes, well done, I enjoyed that. It made me laugh.
