Bring Sally Sparrow back I say. *sigh* We need more Careyy Mulligan on telly. Or Felecity Jones, even though she was in the Unicorn & The Wasp.
Doctor Who... Page 141

>_<
Quote: Matthew Stott @ July 5 2008, 9:13 PM BSTThat would be like 'The Pink Panther' movies, with the Master trying to kill the Doctor every time he got back in the tardis!
Haha!!
See? That would be brilliant.
Quote: zooo @ July 5 2008, 9:12 PM BSTI just want the Master back for the Doctor to travel with, and to have no companions.
They did that in the animated shorts, which was good had a great dynamic...THe Master was a Hologram....
Ang on I've done this tonight..
Aha! And so it shall be.

She was great. I wanted her to be the next companion before we got Tate.
True. They also had numerous male companions though.
What do you mean extremes? Those two examples have already happened just with Tennant.

Off the top of my head the square schoolteacher, Peter Purvis, Joe off Emmerdale, the Naval doctor (which is quite a specialism) and that drip Adric. But there was always some totty on board as well.
Which makes it right about time for just one boy then!

But if Russell T still has any say in it, that wouldn't rule out the sexual tension.

Ben as well, with the first and second Doc.

(Thank the lord.)
Of course the one companion who would rule out any sexual tension, hopefully even for Russell T., would be the Doctor's daughter...
Forget sexual tension. The genius - yes, genius - of new Who is that it appeals to girls as well as boys, whereas a girl who was into Old Who was a bit of a (...struggles for word....) rarity. If they don't want to lose half of the kids audience in one fell swoop, there has to be a female companion. Nothing to stop them having a male as well.
That sounds like it makes sense. But when I was a little girl, I genuinely didn't need to have another girl in a TV show to feel like I could identify with it, or to feel that I was included or whatever.
I think that's a misconception.
But it's probably one the producers also are under, so that's probably how it will play out.
And also it doesn't make sense, because they've always had girl companions in Who, and you say that girls didn't used to be into it...
Goldmember is starting on 4 now if anyone's interested
