Twice? 1765(or whenever - who really cares?)

Then when?

Independence was declared in 1776, but fighting began the previous year.

The second reference was to The War of 1812 (much easier date to remember) but it was actually a stalemate for the most part. Kind of lame as far as wars go.

Cotton candy is nasty, but Candyfloss was a great hidden track on Wilco's "Summerteeth" album.

Who is America?

No, Who is British. And my favorite band.

I feel great, but I'm tired (got home at 4 a.m.) and my ears are ringing a little. I made the dubious decision to order Mexican food at a wannabe Irish pub in Austin, but their version of a quesadilla - made with boxty instead of the traditional tortillas - wasn't bad at all.

Today my friends will be playing a show here in San Antonio and then post-performance festivities will commence in my home. I have $300 worth of beer on ice, so tomorrow may be the day I'm hung over.

I love toffee apples. They're scrummy. And in Roscoff world America is still a colony, we just allow them to think they're a republic. Mind you, no royal family. Bloody marvelous. Now that's where the French had it right Aaron :P

Not at all.

Mais oui!

That's a LOT of beer! If it's all for you, I think you'll be out for a day or two!

I don't buy cheap beer, so 300 dollars' worth will fit in my fridge with a little room to spare. But there will be 4 band members and my kids to help me drink it. Another band usually tags along and by dawn my house begins to resemble a youth hostel.

Who is America?

They had a couple of hits with "Horse with no name" and "Ventura Highway", the second one being much better.
