Really sounds quite promising, if he can deliver.

Most interesting for me is that there'll be a Beverly Hills Cop 4. Pity he won't be in it though.

That's great, can't wait.
I'll wait and see....assuming he drops the anti gay and chinks speak funny stuff he's going to need a lot of new material!
Chris Rock has moved the bar on a long way.
It will be interesting to hear how insulting his new material is, towards other celebs, seeing as he was caught curb-crawling, for transvestite hookers, a few years back.
Awesome! Eddie Murphy is hilarious! It's gotta be some of the funniest stand up I have ever seen. Thanks for the link Aaron!
Eddie Murphy was like 23 or something when he did Delirious and he's never been bettered in my opinion. Amazingly talented guy. His delivery is just awesome. I wonder if the years have mellowed him though. He's already gone on record saying he regretted a lot of stuff he said on Delirious and Raw - especially the anti-gay stuff. Mind you he never said the word "chink"...
He's also gone on record saying he was going to relaunch his standup career - and that was about 10 years ago, so I'll believe it when I see it.
Murphy gets a bad rap because of his un-pc stuff but his family-related material still makes me cry laughing now. Especially the family barbecue section. Utter genius.

Absolutely Perry. I've seen Eddie's Standups numerous times and they are brilliant. His impressions are brilliant, I really hope he does start again, but at the same time I like wanting more I don't want to be disapointed.
I'm not that huge a fan of his standup!
He's not bad, but Richard Pryor did similar stuff funnier. And first.
If Eddie does do a comeback, it'll be interesting to see what sort of material he plays. Will it be raw and scathing or the standup equivalent of 'The Nutty Professor'.
It'll be tricky - he if does the nutty prof. everyone will say he sold out compared to Raw - if he does Raw stuff (updated) everyone will say he's no Chris Rock.
For me, i'd rather see him dust off Axle and go make BHC4 (and NOT some pg13 version nonsense)
That's what I was thinking!
By turning Beverly Hills Cop 4 down, he's probably turned down the only decent film he would have made for the last 15 years.

Bowfinger! Not only a good recent(ish) Murphy film, but a decent Steve Martin film too! Can't think of any other good Eddie Murphy films in the last few decades though . . . .
Well, I didn't see Bowfinger. Unless... it was the one where he was the double of a movie star or something?
If so, I thought that was rubbish.
That one that's on trailers in the cinema at the moment though looks aaaaaawful.
He has teeny tiny Eddie Murphys living inside his body or something.

Thats the one. But you didn't like it. So.
Aw.
I just think I don't like Eddie Murphy in slapstick style comedy stuff. Or things where he plays his own grandma, daughter, cousin, etc.
I loved him so much as Axl Foley.
Actually, how many good Murphy films are there? Beverly Hills Cop, 48 Hours, Bowfinger(To some of us!!), and . . . off the top of my head I'm stuck. Mm. Trading Places I liked. Maybe Coming To America, liked it when I was about eight anyway. He's really mainly been in utter, utter shit though, hasn't he?
