G.K.Chesterton is wonderful. And quite a big fella.

I hope that it's not just me who thinks

whenever he hears the name GK Chesterton...?

The theory in the book mentioned above is that they have been working on making human/alien hybrids

Well that would explain me. Failed prototype #1.

Our conception of physics isn't necessarily wrong, but our certainty that those physics apply elsewhere is both misguided and arrogant.

No - we know the laws of physics apply elsewhere in the universe because we've observed planets and stars behaving in ways that are predicted by relativity and gravity (I did a masters in physics at uni). We still don't know everything about the laws of physics of course, but no-one says we do.

I really want a panda.

They look fun. But they get angry.

This has always rather amused me.

Aaron reads? Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Laughing out loud

Yes - that's why I'm not a socialist or a communist.

Noooooooooooooooo!

What's that ?

Gil Chesterton, from Frasier.

My point proven!

I always suspected you are the future of the human race. Good to know they will still keep cats.

Maybe we're just the most sexually attractive species in the universe?

And all this probing is jsut mass rape.

According to theories on relative speed/mass we couldn't accelerate fast enough for meaningful interstellar travel.

It would jsut be easier to become energy, and then move that energy.

Raped by energy, that's just like my last Powergen bill.

Badoom tish.

What a strange coincidence. There's a professor of Psychology at Cardiff University called Simon Griffey. He's just been splashed over an entire page of The Sun because he and his son claimed they saw a UFO near Llangynydir just north of Brecon. They've also filmed it and you can see the video on the newspapers website. But what makes it slightly surreal for me is that I know this guy really well. He's not a crack pot, very level headed and well....you do wonder. That area of Mid Wales is notorious for these sitings. So Perry 'You are not alone'.

And how does anyone explain the Cat from Outerspace?

Quote: Aaron @ July 3 2008, 2:45 PM BST

My point proven!

No it isn't - I said the laws of physics DO apply elsewhere in the universe.

Surely then we would pick them up on tv or with our mobiles.

Hmmm, poor pictures. Why are there never any good ones?

Isn't the problem with all this alien stuff that there is not a single shred of verifiable evidence that anything extraterrestrial has ever visited this planet? That's not to say it's not out there, just that they've never popped over to say hello.

And the idea that governments hush up any alien contact is frankly risible. Governments would fall over themselves to tell us about alien artefacts just to distract us from the lousy job they do in tackling crime and keeping the coast of living down.

Did you read about those sightings a few weeks ago above the RAF base?

And thus my point is proven again!

What's with such umbrage to the idea of moving energy? Is this a religious aversion/

And there are no better scientists then the pissed up hippy ones.

The concept of moving inefficent sacks of meat around the universe is silly. Especially when we know all human thought, conciousness is nought but bioelectrical impulses.

Teleportation, but then you'd still need the 'decode information' to be sent between the start and destination planets, and most're millions of light years away. (i.e. it would take light a million years to get there)

You do know Doctor Who is real, right?
