Aliens

So I have a confession to make; I believe in aliens. I had a strange experience as a kiddie and I've been obsessed about UFOs and suchlike ever since.

So what're your thoughts on the subject? Are you open-minded to the possibility of life on other planets / dimensions? Or do you reckon that out of the countless trillions of planets in the Universe, our shitty little insignificant speck of dirt in the arse end of a relatively boring galaxy is the only one that managed to form life?

Some interesting youtube vids here to fuel your thoughts. Not saying they're real - just interesting.

Such a hostage to fortune.

Erm, I think there must be life on other planets, but for them to be able to reach us would mean that our conception of physics is wrong.

Or something.

Our conception of physics isn't necessarily wrong, but our certainty that those physics apply elsewhere is both misguided and arrogant.

I assume you're talking about surpassing the speed of light to cover the enormous distances.

Sure, Einstein said it can't be done, but he was only human. Don't forget it wasn't that long ago we believed the earth was flat. Then someone proved otherwise. We're all learning and inching closer to the truth but we're a long way from understanding everything just yet. To aliens with the technology to traverse such mind-boggling distances, we're nothing but primitive shaved apes. Or worse - microbes.

Yes, I believe there might be some other life out there. However, I do not believe that we have made contact with eachother yet, I certainly dont believe all those nutters (mainly in US, shock horror) who claim to have been abducted.

Errr Perhaps now would be a good time to ask about your experience >_<

Exactly.

Are you able to tell us a little of your experiences, Perry?

I think it's hard to debunk the notion of visiting aliens, given the huge mass of sightings, evidence, and abduction testimonies. Something is obviously going on, but sifting the wheat from the chaff is almost impossible. What is it? Do the governments of the world know? If they did, how could they keep it a secret? You wouldn't trust them to keep your tax records secret!

There was a documentary on C5 last night about UFOs, but it wasn't a very good one. I'd like to see them concentrate on the abductees rather than see interviews with people who saw something or heard something 25 years ago but don't have film of it.

Okay I'll get it out of the way - I was about 8 and awoke one night, freezing cold. I mean I could see my breath and everything, yet it was summertime. For some reason I was compelled to look out of my bedroom window and there was a face looking in at me. I just remember huge black eyes. Of course I screamed the house down, waking Mum and Dad up. They came running in and of course whatever it was was gone.

All a dream? Maybe, but I've never experiennced a dream that felt so real since.

Thing is, I was screaming "monster!" because I had no idea what an alien was or how it was meant to look. It was only years later when I saw the gray aliens on Close Encounters that I realised they were close to what I'd seen.

So that was my experience.

Ooooh interesting.

I believe there's something out there... but what? I don't know!

I believe there must be life of somekind out there. Whether they've 'visited' us is another thing.

It was probably a panda.

Thanks, Perry. Have you read any of the UFO books? I've got through a ton of them, Whitley Streiber, Tim Good, Budd Hopkins etc etc. Communion is one of the best known, by Whitley Streiber. I also like this one.
