Best comedy film ever? Page 2

Yep South Park

Cheech and Chong's Next Movie & Still Smoking

Police Academy?!!?!!

And I stand by Some Like It Hot being overrated.

Top Secret shouldn't be overlooked

Police Academy?!!?!!

Yes!!!!!!!

Agree with South Park -- the best musical ever!

And yeah, Life of Brian is funny too.

Dan

Airplane! Or Meaning of Life for me. Perhaps Animal Crackers (Marx Bros)? Those are the movies I can watch over and over and still find funny.

Zoolander was on last night. My favourite bit has to be when Zoolander tells Billy Zane to "put a cork in it!"

Love Zoolander.

I nominate Some Like it Hot, the Great Race, Life of Brian and a bunch of French films from 1970s you have not even heard of.

Parody films, even the best ones, are funny for about ten minutes.

Also I nominate the Return of the Living Dead.

What are the names of the French films?

Is this deja vu? I know we've done this thread before but of course you can't find them anymore can you.

And I'll say what I said numerous times before.

"Top Secret" with our very own Nick Rivers.

What are the names of the French films?

My childhood, spent in one of then-superpowers, has allowed me to watch quite a bunch of films from non-English speaking countries. Among my favourites still are:

most films with Louis de Funès, including:
Oscar
La Grande Vadrouille
Le corniaud
(and at least 20 more)

as well as films with Pierre Richard:
Le Grand blond avec une chaussure noire /Le Retour du grand blond
Le jouet
Le Coup du parapluie
(and at least 5 more)

and films with Ricard and Gérard Depardieu:
La Chèvre / Les Compères / Les Fugitifs

Then there's a superb Polish duology Va Bank and Va Bank 2, as well as Seksmisja, and some Italian films with Adriano Celentano, like Il bisbetico domato and Bluff — storia di truffe e di imbroglioni.

There's Something About Mary. I was going to say Withnail & I but it's really miserable..

Blazing Saddles, closely followed by Life of Brian.

The Producers.

Is that too old?

It wouldn't of killed them to film the movie on a few sunny days!

Ah yes - Blazing Saddkes was brilliant.

As well as the old St Trinians films, Carry Ons, Will Hay, Marx Brothers, Ealing comedies etc etc etc.
