The clip on the website is really exciting. If slightly melodramatic.

Out of context it does appear a little o.t.t, but I'm sure itll be different within the confines of the show itslef. And stuff.

I don't know why I love posting links so much!

:D
On the right thread now.
But yes, he says "We're all gunna die!!!" but he won't, so what is that about? Also, why does Jack sound so terrified of the Daleks when him and the Dr have beaten them once. The same with Martha. And twice with Rose. They should be barely surprised now.

He had the Doctor with him, I dont think hes there from the start here.

Torchwood), but I'm pretty sure RTD is going to make a complete balls of the story. It will make absolutely no sense and there will be embarrassing teary twaddle and group hugs every five minutes and then Dr.Who will save the day at the end by harnessing the Power Of Love etc.

Always good to wait till youve seen it to make a judgement!!
:D

I don't understand that clip. Jack keeps saying "We're all going to die". But he's immortal. Surely that's not Russell T.Davies adding in teary emotional scenes that make no sense again ? OK maybe it is.

Jack does die though, doesnt he? But then he comes back to life; plus all those he loves would die and stay dead.

Surely it's impossible to watch an episode of a long-running TV series without preconceptions, when you've seen loads of episodes before ?

Not with Doctor Who, I would say, when theres a whole bunch of different writers, worlds and each episode can range so drastically in quality. I always go into each one wondering which Doctor Who Im going to get-'Blink' or 'The Long Game'!

And then they feel no sympathy for the people left dead who would not be dead if it weren't for the Dr. Angry

I though you liked Who?!? Give the Doc a break! They cant have a scene at the end of every episode crying about those who died! That would be a touch grim.

That's an easy one. If it's Moffatt, you get Blink. If it's RTD you get The Long Game. Tonight, it's RTD. And see if my predictions aren't bang on! ;-)

Ah, I dont mind RTD, hes done a great job I think. It'll be interesting to see how the Moff copes when he has to plan a whole series, help work up every episode and write five or more complete stories himself, plus a Christmas special, every year as opposed to just one story. Dont get me wrong, I think hes going to be great, but thats a lot of work and pressure and he's sure to knock out the odd duffer himself.

I like Who. The Doc just gets on my nerves a bit. Laughing out loud

Sorry-but I dont understand that! You like Who but the lead character-whos in almost every scene-gets on your nerves?! You just a fan of space and police boxes or something?! :D

He can only keep not dying as long as there's a universe to not die in.

Aaaah! But there's a thought. What if the universe suddenly dissappears? Or compacts down to the size of a pea? What would become of Jack?

Stress can do that to a guy.

Or so I'm told. Errr

Quote: Griff @ June 28 2008, 4:53 PM BST

or suchlike, otherwise I will be angrily accusing RTD of technical inaccuracies.

*gasp* :O

Quote: Griff @ June 28 2008, 4:46 PM BST

But surely if writing five episodes and a Xmas episode and showrunning and talking self-important bollocks on Dr.Who Confidential is too much work for one person THEN THEY SHOULD SPREAD THE WORK AROUND MORE WRITERS to get better episodes. This is what annoys me about RTD.

I'm not saying it is too much work really, I think RTD has done a great job, just be interesting to see how people feel about Moffat when he, as he undoubtedly will, starts delivering the odd less thean amazing episode. I just think its easy to diss RTD, but youve got to take into account just how much of him is in every single episode. Moffats aside, he comes up with at least the basis of every story, then works with every writer on working it up, and always has a pass at the script himself; though his name never appears.
