Best Comedy Writer per decade

We've had the best comedy actor per decade, have a go at the best comedy writer per decade. Here's mine:
50's- Ray Galton/Alan Simpson
60's- Johnny Speight
70's- Jimmy Perry/David Croft
80's- John Sullivan
90's- David Renwick
00's- Graham Lineham.

Good list, but I would have had to make way for Ben Elton somewhere.

50's - Galton/Simpson
60's - Perry/Croft
70's - La Frenais/Clement
80's - John Sullivan
90's - Richard Curtis
00's - Gervais/Merchant
10's - Chipolata

Haha!

:D

We'll see.

Richard Curtis didn't do much telly in the 90s.

Gervais and Merchant haven't done enough, for me.

Sullivan, Renwick, Linehan - good calls there.

And as Chipolata says - La Frenais and Clement. Two of the best ever.

Oh, without a doubt. Brilliant.

I wouldn't put Graham Linehan in the list because he's Irish, so he is. Bains/Armstrong should also get a mention. And Paul Whitehouse/Charlie Higson. And Armando Ianucci.
