No. No he's not. He is an amazing musician in my opinion. Some of his lyrics are fantastic. Listen to The Lost Art Of Murder and For Lovers. Two brilliant songs. I agree that he is wasting his talent away with the drugs etc but behind that he is brilliant.
And why is this in critique?

I have to disagree Seefacts. They were brilliant. Can't Stand Me Now is a beast of a song. Fantastic.

Amazing song. I'm always a little bit sad when I hear it - even when the band was capitulating they could still pull out a bit of brilliance like this song.
I like The Libertines first album a lot, but the second album was godawful.
The Libertines were great. Babyshambles are not.

I would happily spend every minute of every day doing that. Okay maybe that's a bit extreme, but it is amazing on the rare occasions that it happens!
