Or short. Or retractable.

I remember once when I was a kid I picked a penny up off the floor and some other kid said what are you, a Jew?

LOL.

In South London we know every night as the "Night of the Long Knives."

And the brap brap.

I'm with Sooty on this one - no comedy here for me.

It wasn't a lol situation, Azza!

Anyway, I thought Jew then meant gypsy. So I thought about it and it kind of made sense that someone who lived in a small caravan in a field might pick up spare money.

Kids are weird. And thick.

I don't think it's 'funny' that the kids would play the hiding game, I just think it makes perfect sense that they would.

Kids (of age 6-12 I am counting as kids) are thick. I should know, I was one. Unlike SOME people.

It's the phraseology which tickles me!

Really? Is that a moral reaction, or do you just not find it funny?

I think this is quite funny. It's the misappropriation of a terrible tragedy by kids. It's the cultural insensitivity that makes it funny, it's very clear that the kids didn't understand the issue at hand.

It's no different from Cops & Robbers or Cowboys & Indians. Is that first game an insult to every policeman who died doing his duty? Is the second game offensive to the Native Americans wiped out by European settlers? Not really. These games are just the result of kids not understanding the actions of truly terrible people.

And that song kids sing that sounds like a nice nursery rhyme but is actually about dying of the plague or summink.

Actually that's a myth. [/spoilsport]

Indeed. If Ricky Gervaise had written it, it would be "comic genius".

Written what?

I don't find it funny - period - my reasons will remain my own. Please don't dissect my opinion to justify your own.

He's an English student; he will, no matter what you say.

The whole scenario of the Jews & Nazis game.

I wasn't. I was genuinely questioning you. You might not have found it funny, like I don't find Dane Cook funny.
