Mr Cullum Snr:

Oh for Gods sake Jamie, stop showing off and sing Happy Birthday to your Mother properly.

Er not for me I'm afraid, I don't know who Jamie Cullum is, and now don't care.

Has Jamie Cullum done anything recently? This seems a bit last year.

It's a good send up of Jamie Cullum.

I could see it being in some sort of Saturday night variety show. That's not a dig or anything, by the way!

Sophie Dahl?

Very good, though. About time somebody gave the monkey-faced little show-off a beasting.

Having looked him up on Youtube I now get the joke, it is a good one, if maybe a bit long.

Also could it end with the dad hacking him into tiny pieces with a blunt axe?

I thought it was funny but then I know who Jamie Cullum is and dislike him immensely. However the joke would still work at about a quarter of the length ?

Point taken; not really meant to be acted out word for word, it can be made as long or short as required.

It was performed at a local charity function a couple of years ago, went down quite well but we were lucky to have a good pianist performing it (also, because we live in Bath everyone knew who Jamie Cullum is).

I wonder if you could turn it up a bit more by having the Cullum showing off somewhere even more inappropriate like a funeral or a State occasion ?

Strangely enough the same amateur review had a sketch featuring Simon Cowell delivering a eulogy at a funeral (highlighting all the deceased negative attributes etc). The keyboard player driffted into Cullum mode at the end of the sketch (wasn't scripted but sort of worked)

Maybe McCullum having a poo? We see the door, and hear his thigh slapping, plop dropping, crazy jazz deffication?
