Haven't watched it yet, since the UK isn't involved. I'd have even cheered on a team of liverpuddlians, that's how desperate I am.
I predict a Croatia/Russia final. And then England are (arguably) the third best team in Europe. Not a bad result.

I totally disagree, we would have held our own and would have certainly done better than France but, as usual, have gone out on penalties in the quarters

Bearing in mind if we qualified it would still be McLaren at the helm, do you really think we would've done that well?
We were rubbish...
We never played well under McClaren (hope you know what you've let yourself in for FC Twente) but the players are not rubbish, we have some excellent quality in the team and I pray that Capello can bring the best out of them.

We'd probably be better off just letting the players do what they want. The quality is definitely there.
I'm reminded that Slavin Bilic would always give the same answer when asked why England never played well against Croatia - he said "we played better", and he was absolutely right. They have shown they are a very good side even without Eduardo. Now the Russians are looking equally good. We shouldn't use it as an excuse for not qualifying but it is clear that they were much tougher opposition than we gave them credit for.
I think that was probably the problem. Underestimating the opposition.
They both look like they could progress as well, so I guess you're right.
Hope this match goes to penalties - we need some excitement
