Just starting 9pm on BBC 4 a drama about Marie Lloyd - famous old Mucic Hall commedienne.
Marie Lloyd
I missed it.
Youprobably don't know her but they're the songs my Nan and Grandad used to sing. (Not professionally). Quite aninteresting story with Jessie Wallace - who I do find quite attractive - playing her.
Her act involved lots of nudge-nudge, wink wink, suggestive and double entendres which she got into a fair bit of trouble for at around 1907.
It was a bit unneccessarily patronisingly politically correct by having a black bloke in a top hat doing some kind of narrative but luckily there wasn't too much of that.
A good drama I feel which could have been longer and really jumped about too quickly towards the end with her finally collapsing on stage. Also they cut out all the World War 1 bit where apparently she helped the troops morale.
It's difficult to know how to rate Jesse Wallace because she's only really known widely for Kat in that Godawful EE. She is a looker though. I would.
I do actually find it amusing that Dave finds a great piece of TV and immediately misses it to log and and tell people about it.
There's an irony there.

Who said he missed any of it? You're assuming that his TV and computer are quite seperate entities!
No - I was watching it. Thought I'd let people know as it started although I realised it would probably be too late.
Hope to go to see "the Story of Marie Lloyd" at the Pavilion Theatre, Worthing next Wednesday.
