Oh dear, my brother's getting a talking to for wanting to go on an army based trip. I just heard, "The army isn't fun, Andy."

I didn't know what CCF meant, and so googled. Apparently it's the Cheetah Conservation Fund. Are they racist?
Aw, cheetahs!
I really don't believe society used to be less violent or bloodthirsty. What about the public hangings thousands of ordinary people used to throng to?
I think society is less violent now, in general, than it has been.
Kids then used to watch people die in the street without a thought. It hardly compares to kids playing computer games now.

Hmm, ok. But I was only 11, and knew it was a load of bollocks.

But rich for a police officer to talk about the dangers of the army surely?
Winehouse faints. Is "admin" the new street name for crack?
Ha. "Doing admin".
Bless her.
As long as he doesn't get shipped off to the front line.

You are jumping through a whole period of time and that was put behind us a long, long time ago. A hideously violent war made people more respectful of life and gave them a community spirit. So we went through a period where family really mattered and young people respected authority. Now that is being eroded again, year by year .. each step being so miniscule as not to cause major public alarm at any given point. Now we do have public executions again but this time it is the gangs doing it, not the government

Is that like CSI - hence the glasses?
Oh well, off to eat dinner. Have fun discussing politics without the voice of wisdom (me )
