New, bigger coup!? :O:D

Shhh keep it on the down low ;)

Well I'm glad that she did it, but today someone from that primary who now goes to the same sixth form as me, asked why I left, and I very quickly changed the subject.

Laughing out loud "I left because my mum wanted me to be a swot" :P

Did she actually remember you?

*whispers while crouching* Yay! Low down enough?

Yeah she apparently did, actually. Having said that, I remembered her, too, so it's not that odd.

Oh really, an old lady driving her motability scooter at 2.30pm was mugged outside of our local Tesco's last week. 10 years ago there would be police everywhere trying to find the piece of shit who did it - now it's just a crime number. 2 weeks ago my mother had her purse stolen in Iceland by some young kids preying on older people. There is so much crime going on most of it never gets reported. People decide to arm themselves to protect against it and the escalation of this will take us to where they are in America - the country so revered by my fellow Britains. Sick

That's the failing of the police rather than society. They're swamped by paperwork and aren't supported by the court system. I had a cousin who was mugged and he has been threatened repeatedly by the perpetrator who was barely rapped on the wrists by the courts. Really the mugger should still be reeling from punishment.

Robyn is a super-brain.

Alan is largely correct.

And I blame the French.

Oh. I can't remember anyone from my primary school. Hated them all though :P

Ah but it's the degraded society which elected the Government who've put those restrictions and guidelines in place to begin with! ;)

Did none of them come to the same secondary as you? Two of my best friends I've known for nearly 10 years, since I went to my second primary.

Please take over all the unis in the country indefinitely?

The similarities between the government elected and the one in place are few. Besides Labour didn't campaign on the back of "We're going to facilitate crime by doing such and such."

I didn't hate them all. I'm still really good friends with three, two of whom went to my new school.

One of my friends, I was in the same class with throughout my entire time at school.

Will do!

So you *do* remember some people from primary! How can I trust anything you say anymore?! Teary :P

Wow! I think I'd have had my fair share of arguments if I was in that position with one of my friends-but that honestly might be a girl thing.

Cause and effect - the Police are there to do OUR bidding. If we want a society where we tie their hands behind their backs and give more legal powers to the muggers than to the police then they will have to cope with it and be blamed once again. Forget the police it is OUR responsibility to treat other people the way we treat ourselves and not to blame the police for not keeping them behind bars.

The whole point of my argument is that the lines are becoming blurred and if an old woman gets mugged in the street in broad daylight it should be ALL of our problems not just the police.

Don't remember the others...

Nope. I don't have any friends I haven't argued with/hit.

No, not directly, but it's inherent with their principles. And, more to the point, their policies on policing, human rights and the like - which were in manifestos.

In any case, I made no specific mention of the present Government. It's not in the past 12 months that the country's suddenly collapsed.

Almost certainly is, yes.

So that's 13 years at school alone, and I think I knew him beforehand too.
