What are you listening to now? Page 219

Nick will not be happy!

I've only ever heard that song, if I'm honest.

I'm listening to an album by Ace Kefford who used to be in the move during the 1960s.

He was really good in the band but this is a bit hit and miss though.

Stitch Me Back-Blood Red Shoes

Glasvegas-'Daddys Gone'

What a great new band.

The Stone Roses are great;I even love the second album, which I know was slated on release.

I keep hearing - as I am now - that new Sharleen Spiteri song.

I was never a fan of texas but dfo find I quite like this.

Also one of the most over rated bands of all time to my mind were the Stone Roses.

I kind of like Texas, "say what you want," and "halo," two good songs. I like Sharleen more:

Texas-music for people who dont really buy music. See U2 also.

The Stone Roses were overrated, in my opinion. When they first released 'Fool's Gold', there was a big hoo-ha about the fact that the song featured funky '70s-style wah-wah guitar, which was hardly ever heard in Indie music. Yes, the song was funky-as-f**k, as was some of the Happy Mondays' stuff from around the same time, which also used a lot of wah-wah guitar, but, as I was already listening to proper Funk, from the late 60s and early '70s at the time, as well as Hip hop, which used a lot of old Funk samples, the novelty was lost on me. My older sister was a huge fan of the Stone Roses, and most the other Indie Groups from that time.

I also say that The Stone Roses were/are poo.

Enough of the Roses bashing!

I like Fools Gold but it wouldn't make my top 5 Stone Roses songs. They had songs much better - the already mentioned She Bangs The Drums, Sally Cinnamon, This Is The One, I Wanna Be Adored, Made Of Stone etc etc. In Ian Brown they had the frontman that Liam Gallagher wants to be. Only he could get away with singing the line "I am the Resurrection and I am the light".

The individual musical talent in the band was incredible too. John Squire is unbelievable on the guitar, Reni was great on the drums and Mani comes out with an infinite number of catchy bass hooks on a regular basis. Scatters if you like She Bangs The Drums try listening to some more of their stuff, they're class :)

Bit whiney though, eh.

Tee hee.

Donna Summer compilation.

Just had Could it be Magic - which of course Take Twat ruined.

Improved, dear. Improved.

They do an ace version of it now! All slow and pretty with acrobats throwing petals over the crowd...

I'm not quite sure why.

But it's jolly good.
