I've only been here 18 months, but I've found Texans to be friendlier than the people in any of the other states (Nevada, Indiana, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, California) I've lived in. As a rule, southerners are friendly folk.

I met him about 10 years ago while he was the owner of the Texas Rangers baseball team. The Rangers held their spring training in my hometown in Florida and I found myself seated right behind W and his parents. They were enjoyable company.
