Why did England win the World Cup in 1966?

Do you like giving West Ham fans the freedom to reflect on our wondrous triumph :P

Of course England won due to the combined talents of Messrs. Hurst, Moore and Peters. (West Ham players.)

Hurst bagged the only perfect hat-trick ever scored in a World Cup finals. His inclusion was, of course, a gamble as he had replaced the prominent Jimmy Greaves earlier in the finals. The mercurial Peters bagged another of England's goals. Peter's was one of the finest exponents of West Ham's passing game, a very talented player with a superb eye for a pass. They were led by the iconic Bobby Moore, the consummate captain and a defender described by Pele as "the best." He made up for his lack of pace with his superb reading of the game and was one of the most intelligent defender's ever to grace the turf of Upton Parl.

And there you go but I didn't realise he was going to give us the director's cut as well

Heresy! Revel in the glorious triumph.

Thought of a momentous thing to say for number 1000 yet?

ok my last question - what is your earliest recollection of being alive?

I'm sure it'll be anti-climactic. Perhaps an in-depth analysis of past West Ham legends?
