I had an Office marathon last night/this morning, first time I'd seen it in ages. Forgot just how funny it is.
I get the impression that some people denounce the comedic value of The Office purely because of its mainstream success.
It might not happen too often anymore, but it is possible for something to be very funny AND popular in the mainstream.
To put The Office in the same category as Little Britain is a bit crass to say the least.
A less obvious line in The Office that always got me was when Gareth says (about Finchey) to the temp; "he's thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you ever done?!".

Not sure how anyone could mention The Office and Little Britain in the same derogatory fashion anyway. They're not even close in terms of their respective styles.
I dunno, if one doesn't like either show then I'd think it's fairly easy to mention them similarly!
