Well he's got a point.

That's far too long to watch, but good pun.

I can't believe I've lived in Texas for 18 months and still haven't applied for a concealed carry permit. I need to rectify that.

That's not a pun, that's a genuine American Attitude!!

Anyone carrying a knife should be stabbed with it. This should not apply to anyone carrying a canteen of cutlery home from Argos though.

Violent criminals carrying a knife should be stabbed with it.

Fixed it for ya.

Good stuff! I have no animosity towards cutlery users of any race or creed. I'd like that to be known.

What are the laws for carrying knives in the UK? Here in the States you'll find many, many people with a small pocketknife or multi-tool on their person. They're basically tools, not weapons. It doesn't become a legal issue unless the blade is too long (varies by state) or you're carrying it in a place where they're banned (schools, airports, etc.)

Going equipped, is a Police concept that you're carrying any weapon or tool for the purpose of breaking the law.

If you've got a screw driver you'd better have a very good excuse indeed.

People have been arrested for carrying maglites.

Generally there's very excuses you could come up with for having a knife, if the police think you look suspicious *what ever the size)

Is it true in some states it's more permissable to carry a gun than a knife?

Some people seem to think it’s compulsory.

Whistling nnocently I suspect most Texans don't realise that that clause in their constitution was a typo. It's not really "the right to bear arms" it's really meant to be "the right to BARE arms" and it's all because parts of the USA are fairly hot.

Cool

Personally i'd go with the Israeli /Swiss solution.

Right to arms, but with very strict controls. But if you're capable 9e.g. sane and not a violent criminal), you're expected to borrow guns from the police to protect your self.

The Swiss gouvernment instructed guys on national service to take bayonets on international flights after spetember 11, in Israel teachers or parents are expected to take an uzi or carbine on school trips.

Awaits rain of brckbats.

I assume it only applied to their national carriers.

As for orders from Toblerone, that sounds an excellent new form of Al Quaeda.

I blew myself up, because confectionary ordered me to.

A finger of fudge is never enough!

n.b. so Da Butt, you going to get your self a shooter, and protect your second ammendment rights?

Possibly, if you have a permit to carry a concealed handgun but are carrying an illegal (switchblade, blade too long, etc.) knife in addition to the gun.

Yeah, now that my kids are grown. I'd like a .40 pistol, a .357 revolver, a 12-gauge shotgun, a .270 rifle and maybe an M16 knockoff for old times' sake. That should be enough preparation for the coming zombie apocalypse ...
