I wonder who comes up with all these! I could be paid to make up better lyrics I think.

I think it's the artists themselves, I can't imagine that people could get paid for some of these...

I suppose with reputation no-one will question how silly they sound.

None of the artists really have any reputation though. I assume the record executives let it go because it results in a modicum of interest in these otherwise awful songs.

I remember hearing, that when the young Michael Jackson was in the studio, recording the Jackson 5's 'I'll be there', and he shouted the line "just look over your shoulders honey!" he wanted to re-record it, to change "shoulders" to 'shoulder', but the song's producer said they should leave it as it was, because he thought re-recording the line would spoil the song.

This Lenny Kravitz song always stands out for me:

I wish that I could fly
Into the sky
So very high
Just like a dragonfly

He really put his rhyming dictionary to good use there. Kravitz is shit.

He stole that off Orville The Duck.

Ooh aren't you the critic? :P

I like to see myself as more of a religious prophet, delivering the truth (musically) to the uneducated and unwise.

You need to get Laura to hire you!

I do not need the money. The results of my work are reward enough. :P

But you could join her divine forum team. Maybe she works alone, actually-her aura takes up a lot of space I should imagine.

Dizzee Rascal 'Fix Up Look Sharp' -

"Flushin MC's down the loo,
If you don't believe me bring your posse, bring your crew...

... You Topman, Topman, hard toppa toppa,
Come to me with an attitude, come a cropper,
I'm old school like Happy Shopper"

Oh dear...I think that's winning so far...

I was just trying to think of someone he might call a friend, but that wasn't a stranger when he met them, is all.

I loved Matt Goss.

Awwww! If there's one thing I'm proud of in my life it's not joining everyone else in going Bros bonkers. You didn't have Grolsch lids nailed to your shoes did you?

No I didn't!

I was only 10. I never even went to see them.
I just stared at posters, sighed, and listened to Cat Among The Pigeons for 72 hours straight.

Haha.
I do quite like that song though... :$

Toto's seminal album IV is packed full of shite lyrics.

Any song that starts with 'You stole my heart the moment you came to town /
I said hello but you were gone when I turned around' is brilliant in my view.

You were gone when I turned around?! Then don't be saying hello to people with your back to them!

I also highlight, from Regret by New Order: 'I would like a place I could call my own / To have a conversation on the telephone'. Who calls it 'telephone'? No one says telephone, ever.
