I just sat down to enjoy My Name Is Earl, which I had taped. Having shunted it back in the schedule to make way for Braindeath for Morons, Channel 4 then decided I would prefer to watch a video of some old slapper screeching instead. So Earl started later than advertised, with the result that I failed to record the last five minutes.
Would anyone like to tell me how it ends?

Earl got that guy to forgive his parents by burning all the paintings in his cell- I won't go in to detail as to how that worked, you'll have to buy the DVD or watch the repeat on E4.
Earl got his 6 months off his jail sentence certificate and the boss asked Earl what would he do without him and Earl replied "well in 10 days your gonna find out" The boss laughs nervously and shreads all of Earl's "time of sentence" certificates.

A gem in Channel Four's comedy necklace
When it is good it is very, very good (eg the Joy-heavy anniversary episode a couple of weeks ago).
And when it is bad it's a waste o' space (eg the ones where Earl was in a coma).

The makers of My Name Is Earl are said to be in talks with rival networks Fox and ABC about the possibility of picking up a fifth series.

The COPS episodes of My Name Is Earl should be put in a comedy museum for all time. Truly superb.
I love my Name is Earl. I put it alongside Scrubs in my clever American stupid stuff pile.

A little bit of both.
When I watch this I always enjoy it but it's not something I consciously look out for. I just remember working on my laptop once and it was on in the background and hearing the line: "Are you sure you want to write a love poem with the word cartilage in it?"
That just cracked me up because I had absolutely no reference points to the show or what the context was.
