A pack of 20 costs about £5.50 ish.

I think that's about double the cost here in the States. I had a friend who used to order her cigarettes online. I might be misremembering, but I think she was ordering them from Russia.

Or under 60 in my experience.

And in your line of work, that's a lot of old man experience ;)

Well I have to admit that my father smoked 20 a day, worked in an Ammonia plant at the ICI for 40 years and lived to be 79. He never had a days illness in his life until the final year and died of an illness totally unrelated to cigarettes. One day they will find out why only certain people are susceptible to cancer but until they do it is not worth playing russian roulette with your health?!

I guess not, Alan.

I buy a 25g bag of tobacco for £4.99.

About ten dollars. When I was a teenager I used to buy an ounce (28.3 grams if my school's failed attempt at teaching us the metric system did me any good) of weed for $20. More bang for the buck, I must say.

:O

You're thinking of Ellie...
;)

You leave Ellie alone.

Quit Leevil, my mum used to smoke 60 a day, now she is on an oxygen machine for 16 hours a day and cannot walk to the shops.

Plus I've dabbled in every hedonistic vice there may be, you're not really missing out. Although riding through Amsterdam on a beer bike, high fiving policemen and singing Hey Jude is one of my personel highlights.

Thanks to everyone for discussing this in such a err.. pleasant way, I was expecting a hurl of abuse, I apologise for making that assumption.

I'm genuinely debating what to do and this has helped.

:)

She has two forum husbands now?

I remember the night I tried ecstasy was one of the best nights of my life. I wouldn't do it again though.

No, but he pays good money for her time.

Really ?

I'm 37, and started smoking when I was 15 to look cool in front of my mates. As did everyone. Anyone that says they DIDN'T start smoking for that reason is a f**king liar.

Anyway I've tried to give up loads of times - the latest a few months ago when I quit and kept off the fags for 7 weeks. Totally nicotine-free. And now I'm back on them. So yeah - give up early dude.

That bloke who was 112 today said smoking helped him. But I still think it's an anti-social stupid thing to do.
