What's the world's greatest theme tune? Page 6

Due South

80s comedy drama about a kid from Liverpool. Surely it's on her somewhere isn't it? If it was a decent site that is.

This site is sitcoms, not comedy dramas.

Altogether now:

diddudiddudiddiddiddudiddididduddidder, diddudiddudiddiddiddudiddididduddiddah, dah da-da-da, dah da-da-da, dah da-da-da, dah da-da-da, dah dadadadadah da da da dadadadah da da da dadadadah da da da dadadadah da da da da da dadadadada da!

That sounds just like Match of the Day.

That sounds just like Match of the Day.

You're doing one song to the tune of another.

It is in your alphabetical list.

Due South

Good call. I also love Ride Forever from that.

And I will second Flashing Blade, if only from nostalgia.

Rhubarb and Custard

You are completely right! (except you're not, 'The Flumps' was much better, a sort of monged version of Rhubarb)

Monged!

I liked the Flumps.

Avenues and Alleyways gets it but right up there is Z-Cars. Brilliant theme. And I don't support 'The Toffies'. Also worth a mention is Deep Space Nine when it first came out. Brilliant solo trumpet and then they changed it and messed it up.

The original or the Steeleye Span version? (Trivia alert: Allan Prior, co-creator of Z-cars, was the father of Maddy Prior.)

Ha ha! I think you may be a music geek Timbo. The original.

Agreed on the good call for Due South but the nomination of Sorry! wins it for me. Especially when Matt Berry's band did a cover on Screenwipe.
