What's the world's greatest theme tune? Page 3

Hancock has a great theme tune and Handbags & Gladrags sounds great for The Office but I have no idea why they chose it.

Fawlty Towers and Last of the Summer Wine fit the show style well too. Sorry! was a great toon with great titles as well.

Is "No Mean City" still the theme tune to Taggart? Sung by Maggie Bell, and written, if I recall correctly, by Dave Greenslade.

Oh, and a more recent note, I loved Kate Rusby's version of Village Green Preservation Society for Jam & Jerusalem.

I have to say it is weird because I hate the show, but this TV theme tune is one of the best ever in doing what it is supposed to do.

I checked Mike Moran wrote No Mean City, so I am now a bit embarrassed about liking it. But Dave Greenslade did the theme to Gangsters which was also a great tune (and a great and largely forgotten show).

Rentaghost had a pretty good theme tune too. As did Hi-Di-Hi.

I watched Gangsters recently. Timbo, do you like the instrumental theme from series 1 or the one with lyrics from series 2?

For some reason (I don't know how) the theme tune from Big Break just came to my head.

The all time best themetune ever of course is 'Theme from a Summer Place.'
