Sequels better than the original? Page 2

I've always had a soft spot for Beneath The Planet Of The Apes.

Sorry, the original had the edge in that it made the slightest bit of sense,

To be fair, neither of them made sense and were highly improbable and full of contradicting plot points.

But they sure were Cool

I am also in the minority I know, but I prefer Jedi to Empire.

Probably because it was the first film I saw at the cinema... I will always stick by it :)

Are you sure you haven't forgotten City Slickers 2: The Legend Of Curly's Gold ?

Rooster Cogburn for me. The plot, characters and almost all the dialogue in True Grit had been taken from Charles Portiss' classic novel. Unfortunately he didn't do a sequel but Hollywood did...

But if we are going to do worst sequels, lets take it to a separate thread.

Spider-Man 2, X-Men 2, Star Trek 2.

They was going to make Titanic 2, but it sunk at the box office.

Star Trek 2, yes certainly. I have not seen Spiderman 2 or X-Men 2 as I am not a total freaking masochist.

But in any case I am not sure it counts when you are coming off such a low starting platform.

:O

Really? I thought it was far worse myself. I though the first one was much funnier

Both were brilliant in my opinion...but the 2nd one was BRILLIANTER :P

I haven't seen the third one yet. Considering the fact that I preferred the first to the second am I likely to like the third? I did quite enjoy that Christmas special :)

When's the sequel to Oliver Stone's 'World Trade Centre' gonna come out?

Laughing out loud The USA have to look for another "New Pearl Harbour" before the script can be written. Actually the script will probably be written before the actual event :D

You can imagine the mixed reactions I got to that gag when I used it in stand-up.

Probably a 1/3rd agreed with you and laughed/cheered, 1/3rd would have disapproved and the others would have no clue what you were talking about? :)

I was once threatened by an indignant young American fellow. I was at least amazed and pleased that he'd got it, before I ran away.
