The Onedin Line was instrumental in the collapse of Rumania, and possibly Albania's communist parties.

These shows were one of the few things these countries could offer their starving, opressed populace. When the BBC pulled the plug on the Onedin Line, revolution followed about 6 months later.

So in it's own way it was more lethal than an atomic bomb.

Live in fear Central Europe, the BBC will once again fight the good fight, for Battleship Britannia.
