Don't see the new Indiana Jones Page 2

Leevil, may I just say how disturbing I find that new avatar. And as For Indy, why exactly have they done a new one anyway? Whats wrong with leaving it at the original trilogy?

George Lucas is determined to undo all the great films he made that defined an era of cinema.

It appears that the American film industry is bankrupt of ideas at the moment and the only way to generate the income for the studios is to remake old films and rehash succesful formulas that were best left alone. I would suspect that in the in-tray of every hollywood film mogul is a copy of Halliwell's Film Guide and not new and original screenplays! :(

Mainly Star Wars though. That THX thingy. He was behind Howard The Duck. He aint no filmic genius; hes a man with a beard who got lucky in my view; very lucky!

Ha! Pretty much what I was going to say. The film industry is bollocks, and has been for a long time. Totally devoid of ideas, so they just come out with sequel after remake after soul-destroying wankfest.

I saw the film earlier; I liked it. It was a proper adventure film.

I was worried it would be a pastiche of the original trilogy, but thankfully it wasn’t the case. There were a few nice nods to the past, but nothing too cringeworthy.

I would have really liked it if they’d avoided any CGI. It would have kept the film in touch with the originals, but that’s progress I guess. And they used very little really.

One thing confused me though: *SPOILERS*

Why had the aliens not flown off earlier? I mean, why had they not flown off before the conquistadors had stolen the crystal skull?

At first I wondered why they were using aliens. I wasn’t sure if it was right for Indiana Jones. I decided that as the film was set in 1957 the writers were perhaps trying to mirror that era’s obsession with UFO’s.

There are aliens in it? Rolling eyes

They used CGI? Rolling eyes

Not too much though, that's good.

They are remaking The Day The Earth Stood Still for crying out loud with Keanu Reeves as the main lead I say what on earth is happening but I could not agree me more with you

Keanu Reeves is a great acto... Laughing out loud sorry I couldn't keep that up.

Yeah...But still its the Day The Earth Stood Still

ALIENS???? Then again, there were Aliens in Mysterious Cities of Gold, which was also set in Central America.

A while ago I "acquired" the first episode of this and for a kids cartoon, it was as good as I remember, tweaked slightly, I think it would make a great prime-time tv show, well maybe not that far, but I did enjoy it.
