He was quite saucy on Doctor Who.

I didn't even know that he was born and died on the same day. Quite an achievement.

that was one of the first things I got taught as (more of) a young'un. that he was born and died on the same day-not that he was "quite saucy on Doctor Who"...zooo can always be relied on to be a lickle bit naughty

Let us not forget William Shakespeare who was born AND died on this very day - a man who wrote some great comedies (Twelfth Night, Much Ado about nothing etc).

The fact that I failed to get any one of his 'punchlines' is irrelevant!

God resteth thy soul fair gentleman of olde.

(God I hated that crap at school)

As did I. Years of pain. Blackadder Back and Forth sums up my opinion perfectly.

You're all gonna think I'm mad-but I'm in Year 11 and like both Shakespeare and poetry :$

Nnnnnnot nnoooooooormal! *bangs fist on desk* >_<

I once read King Lear for fun!

hehe virtual high five zooo! see I AM just a plain old nerd...I say I like poetry, I like Simon Armitage poetry and other select poems...not too weird...yeah okay it is

I read books for fun.

I remember that book :D I read it when I was about 4 or 5, and the teacher told my parents that I was *too* good at reading :$ how is that possible? Are they afraid I will "reveal" the corrupt school system?

Almost certainly!

surely the whole world already knows about it?

Most do. But similarly, most teachers are in denial.

(And yes, it sounds wet.)

Our teachers are...alternative to say the least...we went to Poetry Live and all we did on the coach was get them to tell us gossip about other teachers

John Hegley's my favourite poet.

I don't have a favorite poet, but i remember that book, wasn't that the one where he baked a cake?, did anyone ever read chip & biff, i seem to be the only one.

Simon Armitage is my favourite poet :D and yeah! chip and biff & the magic key!
