You know what Dan? I thought of doing something like that - e.g. missing a number out - but I opted for the really really dry version. I might be wrong. The more I think about it it, stopping on 8 and making 9 the bonus suits better for me, but hey, who knows?
Anyway, thanks for the feedback y'all. It's the sort of thing that will only ever exist as a throwaway in a bigger piece or as a very very quickie.

Great gag. I agree about adding in a pause. A short delay and a little mechanical 'thunk' before the last ball is called would work wonders.
