Bloody football. *Yawns*
It would be so much more fun if they were naked from the waist down & used their own balls.

It would only be 'fun' if they each had a dozen RPGs.

And Drogba's hit the post! ...as did Terry.

How the FUCK did Chelsea manage to lose that????!!!

Pah bollocks!!! Angry

I was so hoping Ronaldo's pathetic penalty would end up costing manu, then even manu fans might start hating the fat gypo.

Lets hope he has some form of injury during euro 08 and is out forEVER!

Let's hope that Chapman's computer is broken, or we'll never hear the end of it.

I don't think you're right there.

Well, the starting lineups were 5-4 to Utd.

In the end, I didn't mind who won. I'm surprised more of the players didn't miss their penalties, you can't blame Terry for slipping. I think Chelsea deserved to win, but that's football.

Will someone explain the mind of TV news editors to me?

Always, after live footie goes into extra time and delays the news, they spend the first 5 minutes of the news (probably a shortened bulletin thanks to the footie) going over what's happened in the footie. Now, call my logic flawed if you like, but your news watchers are either:
a) people who are pissed off about the delay to the news because of the extended football coverage - the last thing they want is more football at the start of the news; or
b) people who still have the telly on after watching the football. But they (we) KNOW what happened in the footie - we've just watched it!

Correction, it's still going on - must be more well over 5 minutes of ITN news so far, all about the football I've just watched.

Doh!

*What a pavlavor" over a game of the beautiful game

I work on the technical side of news here in the US and they do the same thing. It seems to have something to do with the bubble news producers inhabit. They can't seem to understand the real world, just the day's big story.

In their minds they hear a little voice saying, "Everyone's talking about football, so we should spend lots of time on it." Then they hear a buzzing sound followed by tone and their brains get reset for the next day, never learning anything from previous experience. That's my belief anyway.

Dingo

Yep, I think you're spot on. They go for the "big news story" irrespective of the fact that it isn't big news to their audience at that time.

That's because they actually believe the ratings system.

2000 people in different demographics watch the TV on any one day. Their watching habits are extrapolated and made into millions of viewers and statisticians will say that the system is totally accurate. How could they possibly know?! Unless you test your sample target against actual viewers habits you can never say you have got it right!? As i'm sure that me and 20 million other people have never been asked whether we watched coronation street on monday how in hell do they know their figures are correct? Teary

HA! CHAMPIONS!

It seems everyone has forgotten the first half which we dominated and the luck Chelsea had for their equaliser - two deflections and a slip. Lets also forget the Tevez and Carrick misses and just remember the only two chances Chelsea had.

I thought over the whole game it was even as United were better in extra time and Terry was very fortunate to get to Giggs's chance too.

Penalties are a lottery and I feel for Terry and also Lampard too, for what he's been through.

Anyway - CHAMPIONS!

Absolutely sensational. What a brilliant night of football. It will rank as one of the greatest matches of all time. Manchester United and Chelsea have done English football proud. And as for Drogba, well he's been asking for that all season, rather like Jens Lehmann in the 2006 Champions League Final.

Well Done United thats another 3.8 Million in potential merchandising.
