Hey!
Hello and welcome jeej!
So how does life compare?
With what?

... He lives in Australia... They say "g'day" a lot... Admittedly the wit is somewhat lost after having to explain it, but trust me, if you'd got it the first time, it was a hooter!
G'day indeed.
I think only two people in Australia actually still say "g'day" and one of those is now dead (RIP Mr Irwin). The other is Alf Roberts. Sadly no-one says "put another shrimp on the barbie" either. Talk about shattering the dream.
I've been here three years now. The first year was the toughest - more of a culture shock than you'd probably imagine. Usually silly little things. Like having to repeat yourself every time you say something. Different words and terms to describe stuff. Plus the sense of humour-to-population ratio seems to be quite a bit weaker than in Blighty.
Terrestrial television here is absolutely swamped with American content. One of the only decent Aussie comedies I have seen is Summer Heights High, which apparently BBC 3 have obtained the rights to. You should try to catch it, it is very funny.
Obviously the weather is a lot nicer here, but it's just not home. I am going back to England for 5 weeks at the end of November. I'll judge how badly I want to move 'home' based on the number of times I am nearly stabbed or glassed in the face.
Thanks again for the welcome.
Gav
