That last bit was a joke dude.
Echo Beach binned Page 4
Yeah...
Yes. It was a self-knowing satire of my apparent reputation in the eyes of alan.
Please tell me why you never appear to be online Trendy, and yet quite clearly are; its niggling at me! Are you a magic man or the stealth bomber of internet forums?
Quote: manchester's trendy chorlton @ May 20 2008, 3:50 PM BSTPersonal stuff? What are you on about?
Anyway, you seem to have a personal beef with me; what I propose is that you ignore me. Although, do make sure to keep reading my posts. Believe it or not, I have been complemented on talking sense on several occasions.
I apologise to the originator of this thread, I did not want my opinions to be hijacked by some nut called Alan.
Oh dear, not to be able to see that calling some one a nut is kinda personal - that's pretty basic stuff. And why would you mention that you had a full head of hair if you were not implying something personal about me? I am very happy to ignore your posts "man with no name".
The BBC news item says that scenes from Echo Beach will be seen in Moving Wallpaper series 2, so will that be new scenes? Could be an interesting way of resolving EB plots for EB fans.
Echo Beach was pretty poor; it's remarkable that The Larry Sanders Show was written over ten years previous to this, yet remains lightyears ahead of it even to this day. despite this, I do think it was a brave coice (especially by ITV standards) - and as such think it deserves a second series. Ben Miller's performance could do with work, it was too big - what was called for was something far more subtly nuanced.
What soap do you work on MTC?

whatever it is it seems to involve the word nuance a lot

I presume you refer to Moving Wallper?
Agree some what with you about Ben Miller. Seems to be one of his main character traits, 'big'. But still funny more than not. Overall the prog is worthy enough to stand alone as a comedy imho.
"What do you think of it so far?"
"RUBBISH!"
That's what I think of any opinion which doesn't regard Miller's character and performance as spot-on. I wouldn't change a thing.

mmmmmm well, I tend to think he was a bit OTT but what the hell. It'll never make it into many peoples top 50 sitcoms of all time but it's engaging.
I think he came across as bit too nice if anything to be accurate.

Do you have experience in working for sitcom producers? If so do tell
Quote: Marc P @ May 20 2008, 4:59 PM BSTWhat soap do you work on MTC?
Bit 'sporty' on here today isn't? Just a wild guess but I don't think MTC works on a, quote 'soap' unquote. Perhaps MTC will enlighten us?
Not that it matters, an opinion is an opinion regardless. I've read the posts and not once does MTC use 'Continuing Drama' where the word soap will do. If you, (correction: one) works in soap it's brainwashed into one - (if one wants to progress further that is), to refer to their baby as Continuing Drama. Any passing exec would be down on one,(aw bugger this) would be down on you like a ton of David Brent bricks for referring to their show as 'only' a soap. They've promoted themselves - and you dare call it a soap in front of them on pain-of-death. But of course I could be wrong - I usually am.
Isn't it obvious why MTC is off and online in rapid succession? - The boss keeps walking past expecting to see some work done. There's no shame in being a wage-slave. Unlike us self-employed types who are like well er, a bit thin on top. But only a bit.
I like Corrie, but it's not continuing drama it's pure melodrama. It's supposed to represent ordinary Britain but it's too melodramatic for that. If you were a character on Coronation Street you'd be on the front page of every newspaper as the unluckiest person in Britain. Murders, abortions, affairs, and that's just ONE family to boot! And repeated every week or so to another family, and all within a couple of doors of each other. And they religiously follow the Births-Marriage-Death formula like it was the elixir of life. You can never have one marriage follow another, it has to be one of the other two combinations.
So let's see, we had a marriage the other week, followed by Maria's abortion, (think that counts as a birth), so either there's another marriage on the cards or another death. Oops! Have I revealed a forthcoming plot? But it's easy, just tick off one of the three, and it just has to be one of the remaining two.
- anyway, I'm a sucker for Corrie, so wadda I know?
