No, I said modern, and I meant modern. I get subjected to the weird 'deeper' crap my brother listens to on a daily basis. It's just all so unutterably dull.

You're wrong, I don't think it's any simpler than that. What kind of bands did previous generations produce that makes this generation so superfluous?

Oooh I spy a dispute! Or at least a little tiff...

Tupac, Guns and Roses, Queen to name a tiny amount of amazing artists

Care to name and shame??

Not a clue. Like I said, I can't stand that stuff. It's bad enough I have to hear it, let alone find out who it's by!

I'm not going to deny that those guys were great - though I never really got peoples' obsession with Queen. That's the thing, in this debate the people who appreciate modern music always appreciate older music as well.

Tupac,

Especially all the stuff hes put out since hes been dead; if anything hes been more productive!

No, you're wrong.

I neither know, nor care. I'm not commenting on previous generations. I wasn't alive to experience the mainstream, let alone the underground. Now I am, and I don't like any of it.

So you don't like any music? Seems like this debate is a bit pointless then, doesn't it?

Agreed with you there.

Queen had one of the greatest front men, some of their music was rubbish but watch Queen at Wembley or Live aid and tell me your not impressed :)

So you don't like any music?

I think the posts about Aqua already told us that!
:D

Again, what else I might like or not is irrelevant. We're talking about current, modern music, mainstream and not.

I have seen that and I was impressed, but musically I was never really hooked y'know?

But how could you possibly dismiss an entire generation of artists out of hand? That's just foolish.

I was merely asking for what you did like so I could find you similar artists in this generation. I don't think any musical debate can really proceed without the mention of specific artists.
