Which is all very well for most people (even deities!), but when those in positions of power and influence do the same, it's worrying.
What makes me most uncomfortable about the situation in London is not that the BNP have a seat on the assembly, but the fact that the other parties, and the mayor, are refusing to have anything to do with him (Richard Barnbrook). This just shows utter contempt and disrespect to the electorate. I mean, what the f**k is this, Zimbabwe? If he has been democratically elected, he should be allowed to get on with the job. Almost 200,000 people give him their first or second mayoral preference, and 131,000 gave him their assembly vote. To disregard such a large proportion of the electorate troubles me far, FAR greater than the fact he's there. This is meant to be a democracy.

I like the idea that BNP voters are simple, honest folk, seduced by the cleaning up graffiti and bobbies on the beat policies, and the thought that immigrants are behind all the country's ills has never even entered their heads.

It is worrying that no one is dealing with the BNP supporters. I find the core of their beliefs fundamentally abhorrent, but their electoral success is symptomatic of the feelings that many people in the country have and mainstream politics should be doing more to tackle these problems. Either by dealing with these problems or by educating an electorate prepared to vote for the BNP.
Any debate about immigration is often hijacked by extremists on both sides - those who are truly racist and those who believe everyone talking about immigration is racist. We need some clear maturity from our politicians, but having seen the way they act in the commons I believe maturity is beyond them.

I firmly believe that the latter are far more dangerous than the former. To stifle debate is a quicker route to greater disaster than foolish opinions are.

The present mainstream "BNP OUT! NO RACISM!" rhetoric fails to address any of those concerns, and thus BNP support will only grow. How do you think they got a seat on the London Assembly? They came fifth place in the London mayoral election for f**k sake. It's not through demanding that darkies be shot at dawn.
Best time to shoot darkies is at dawn though, I tried to shoot some in the middle of the night and it was a complete disaster.
And I'm not racist as I despise all colours and creeds equally.
