indeed - if it got a series how does episode 2 work? none of the characters have any tie to each other????

Don't lower yourself down. Some of the stuff you post is ok.
Hated it, weak uninteresting characters stumbling through a very old comedy trope.
The old we need a ticket urgently.

And if you're mocking a subject, get the source material right (check out Galaxy Quest). I didn't see the Delta books as anything other than a cheap McGuffin.
That girl, who was also in Lead Balloon, has got to be one of the most annoying people on T.V.

I think I might be going against the trend here but there wasn't much about this that I didn't like. By far the best of the bunch so far, interesting direction and really strong performances all round. Scots bloke was outstanding.
As to it's legs, it's just a boy chases girl story - character based. The Delta sci fi stuff is kinda irrelevant and if that isn't front of stage for the eps I don't see a problem really. Single camera so they can stick it where they like really.
And I did laugh out loud a few times.
Okay, but nothing special. And I did find myself watching the clock almost as much as the screen when it was on.
Of all three pilots, I'm going to go against the trend and state that despite its lack of stylistic direction, Placebo was by far the superior.
Placebo was probably the most interesting idea, fluffed by crude writing and dreary acting. There is still a great comedy to be made out of the idea of drugs testing trials.
But the crudity was what made it funny! I would be THOROUGHLY disheartened if it made a full series and dropped that.
I'd forgot about making any of three into a series. None struck me as having that much potential.
That is, however, very true.
Is that it for pilots now? Just those three? Or are there more to come?

A chocolate teapot then .... a show about nothing much can be great with a good script but the most interesting premise is pointless if its all it has. You dont need wacky situations to be funny, you need to be funny.
