Ah, the weekend! Page 13

On the subject of musicals, I heartily UNrecommend Wicked.

Oh really? How come?

a) The songs are extremely forgettable. I only remember two choruses from the whole show, and even then I think only because I'd heard them before.
b) It's blocked really badly. A single person on a huge stage, standing in the corner, singing. Not moving, no other props or set or anything on stage. Just ... empty. And that's only what springs to mind right now.

Okay, you've sold me against it then. You had done by a)! Songs shouldn't be that forgettable, especially in musicals.

Indeed.

On the flip-side, I cannot possibly recommend Avenue Q highly enough. (Or Phantom, but we've gone over that already.)

I wanted to go and see Avenue Q for ages! My summer list is getting ever longer.

It's f**king amazing. Quite possibly a BSG meetup activity! :D

But Wicked has Defying Gravity! I actually have that song on my computer despite never having seen the show. It's so brilliant!

Obviously that can't act as an endorsement for the whole show but still...

Youtube it now dammit, now!

When did Youtube become a verb? Do you capitalise Youtube if it is a verb?
